Optimistic Economic Outlook Among Barrington Businesses

According to a survey conducted by the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, many businesses see growth in 2011.

Businesses nationwide have felt the pinch this year due to a lackluster economy.  However, Barrington area businesses see opportunity for growth in the coming months.

According to an economic survey administered by the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, the majority of area business owners said they expect business to grow in the remainder of 2010.  

Out of 130 participants, 72 said they expect significant to moderate growth in business by the end of the year.  42 expect things to stay the same, and only 11 participants said they expect business to contract.

There's also good news to report for residents looking for jobs.  20 businesses who took the survey report that they will hire part time staff this year.  11 companies said they'll bring on full time employees by January 1st.  

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce encompasses 12 communities and has over 750 members.  The group supports local businesses and provides resources and insight for growth.
