Patisserie Offers Lover's Helper Wish List

Ambrosia Patisserie allows customers to choose their own Valentine's Day gifts this year.

Have you ever opened a Valentine’s Day gift from your significant other and thought to yourself, “What were they thinking?” A local Patisserie is making sure that doesn’t happen again this year.

Ambrosia Patisserie is using Facebook to spread the word about its latest promotion, “Lover’s Helper Wish List Service." The service is aimed at taking the guess work out of Valentine’s Day gift giving.

“If people don’t want to ask their loved one for something directly, they can do it by giving us their special someone’s email address and we’ll let them know what you’d like,” said owner Debby Rivera.

Customers can choose from a variety of desserts including the most popular items: Chocolate passion fruit truffles, white chocolate raspberry heart cakes, chocolate Bavarian heart cakes and red velvet cocoa cheesecake.  Submit your wish to Ambrosia, and they will send a personalized email to your loved one with easy order and pick-up instructions.

Rivera said using social media is a new initiative for the store.

“We’re swimming in new waters, but it’s such a harmless thing to launch that we’re pleasantly surprised by the response.”

The response has been much bigger than the store expected.  Ambrosia has received dozens of phone calls and emails about the lover’s helper wish list service, including many that aren’t located near the Barrington area.

“It’s interesting because I have seven messages to return, and five of them are from the Facebook commentary with Valentine’s Day,” Rivera said. “It’s not only impacting people, but it’s prompting them to contact us.”

Prices for the sweet treats range from $1.95 for chocolate truffles and mini pastries, to $40 for custom heart shaped cakes.

If you are interested in sending a special someone your wish list, head to Ambrosia’s Facebook page by clicking here. Ambrosia will be closed on Valentine’s Day, but will be open until 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13.
