Hurricane Isaac Expected to Cause Steep Increase in Barrington Prices

AAA officials have said that Hurricane Isaac may cause gas prices in Illinois to rise.

Illinois gas prices are expected to rise 10 cents a gallon by this time next week.

Officials from AAA have said that Hurricane Isaac, which is currently ripping across the Gulf of Mexico, will shut down offshore oil rigs.

Accuweather.com says Isaac became a Hurricane Tuesday south of Louisiana.

The cheapest unleaded gas available in Barrington as of Tuesday morning is $4.11 per gallon at Citgo on 205 N. Northwest Highway.

Heavy rains from Isaac have caused widespread flooding from southeastern to north-central Florida. Parts of Florida have received as much as 10.71 inches of rain as of Tuesday. Storms are expected to spread to the Gulf Coast. Tornadoes and waterspouts are still possible.
