Guard Against Frostbite

Contrary to popular belief, dogs need to be groomed during the winter. The fur on dog’s paws will hold snow and ice and form little ice balls that can create frostbite.  If your dog appears to have frostbite (pale and cool skin, decreased sensation), use warm water to gently warm the area (warm, not hot) and get the dog to the vet immediately.
