Giving the Gift of Marriage

Wish Upon a Wedding Chicago's first military wedding

Sunday, October 14th, 2012, Ashley & Brian tied the knot at the Renaissance Chicago O'Hare in the first ever Wish Upon a Wedding military wedding. This event was anything but ordinary! Ashley & Brian were provided free wedding services for their special day by local Chicago area vendors who wanted to give back to those who suffered from a terminal illness or life-changing circumstances.

Brian met Ashley on an online dating website following his recent tour in Afghanistan. Coming back from the service was especially difficult for Brian as he had sustained not only life-threatening injuries but also had contracted a rare disease from his time overseas.

After 8,005 Facebook messages back and forth, Brian and Ashley decided to meet. After only a few months together, Brian proposed to Ashley and the rest is history! Not only did this happily married couple have a lovely wedding, but they have many local Chicago area vendors to thank for providing free wedding services to assist in the wedding of their dreams! Not only businesses can help... Wish Upon a Wedding is always accepting donations on their website: www.wishuponawedding.org.

Ashley & Brian will be attending this year's Blissful Wishes Gala in downtown Chicago where the Chicago chapter of WUW will be raising money to provide more weddings for very deserving local couples. You can still attend this lovely event, taking place on November 5th at the Chicago Marriott Mag Mile!
