In honor of Mother's Day, Christina Currie Events, Inc. would like to get
nostalgic. It's time to appreciate our mothers and what they have done for us
over the years. We both have decided to write a bit about our past memories
associated with Mother's Day.

Every year without fail,
I would look through my Aunt Cathy's garden magazines for inspiration for what
perennial to give my mother for our yard. It had become an ongoing joke that I
was the reason why our home had the beautiful landscaping - by age 18 (the year
we moved to another place) I had devoted over 10 years worth of flowers to our
home. My favorite flowers were always the peach Irises I had given her during
middle school and I demanded that we transplant them to our new home when we
moved. My parents did just that!

Mother’s Day has always been
so special to me, ever since I understood the concept of giving my mom a gift at
the age of 5. I can remember planting my flower seeds in small paper cups, which
I of course decorated with my Crayola crayons. My mom always gave me the biggest smile and hug after reading my homemade cards and she would even wear my homemade jewelry.
Now that Mother’s Day is this Sunday and it’s finally nice weather I am getting
really inspired. Daisies are inspiring me this year and I do believe we’ll see
them back as a big trend for 2012-2013. My gift this year is a theme basket for
my mother, all Daisy flower items. Maybe you’ll be inspired by some of my ideas:
