298,000 Without Power in Northern Suburbs

Commonwealth Edison says it could take multiple days to restore power in the area.

The intense lightning and high force winds that tore through Illinois have left 660,000 people in northern Illinois without power as of 10 a.m. July 11, according to a Commonwealth Edison representative.

“In the northern suburbs, which includes Barrington, we have 298,000 customers out,” according to the ComEd representative.

ComEd says it's still in its damage assessment stages and that it could take “multiple days” to restore power in the area.
