CN Railway Repairs to Close Lake Cook Road

Railway construction begins today, closing a portion of Lake Cook Road through June 15.

Beginning this morning, drivers need to be aware of a major construction project that will close a portion of Lake Cook Road until June 15.

Lake Cook Road will be closed in both directions between Route 59 and Hart Road for Canadian National Railway repairs from June 11 through June 15. 

The detour route for drivers is Hart Road to Route 14, and Route 14 to Route 59.

Summer school for District 220 begins today, causing additional headache for students and parents trying to get to the high school. Satellite bus service is available every day at 6:30 a.m. for students needing to get to school. The buses will leave every school in District 220 except and the two Barrington Middle School campuses. Pickups are also available at and .

There will be detour routes posted for drivers until the construction is complete on June 15, weather permitting.
