ComEd: Power Could Be Restored Soon

ComEd expects 90 percent of customers still without power to have electricity restored by midnight June 23.

ComEd crews say many customers currently without power could have the lights back on before midnight on June 23.

The company has been working feverishly to restore power to the 160,000 homes and businesses still in the dark after the June 21 storm. A ComEd spokesperson said they expect 90 percent of those customers to have power back by the end of the day June 23. 

The North Region was the hardest hit by power outages. As of 7 p.m. June 22, 116,000 customers in that area were still without electricity.

The company has restored power to 274,000 customers since the storm tore through on June 21.
