ComEd Gets Help to Turn Power Back On

More than 350,000 ComEd customers remain without power as of 7 a.m. July 12.

As of 7 a.m. July 12, the company has restored power to nearly 400,000 customers. 367,000 are still without electricity. In the north region which includes Barrington, 205,000 customers are still waiting for the lights to be turned back on. At the peak of the outages, the north region had 298,000 customers without electricity. 

A ComEd spokesperson said they are working diligently to get the problem fixed, but it could take days before everyone's power is back on.

"We do have 900 crews in the field, and that includes assistance from other utility crews from Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan and southern Illinois," the spokesperson said.
