Garbage Collection Routes, Pickup Times Change

Barrington residents need to have refuse and recycling to the curb by 7 a.m. each Friday.

Barrington’s refuse and recycling contractor is going green, meaning earlier pickup times for all village residents.

Beginning Friday, July 1, Groot is changing some of its collection routes to conserve fuel. The changes mean all residents need to have their garbage and recycling to the curbside no later than 7 a.m. each Friday.

“Groot is changing their routing on garbage pickup,” Trustee Steve Miller said at the June 27 Village Board meeting. “You have to have your garbage out by 7 a.m., and that is the requirement. Don’t be surprised if the trucks come at a totally different time than they have in the past.”
