Patch Flash: Spiderman Comic Found in Attic Worth $10,000

Toman was cleaning out his attic on a recent weekend at his home in Willow Springs when he rediscovered a box of old comic books that had previously been stored at his mom's house. Toman, who works as a software analyst at Xerox, said he was in disbelief when the owners of of a comic book shop told him what it was worth. "It was quite a surprise," Toman said. "I was in disbelief."

The man accused of stabbing a 14-year-old Indian Head Park girl multiple times after she walked in on him burglarizing her home plans to plead not guilty at his arraignment next month. John L. Wilson, 38, was on parole when Kelli O'Laughlin was killed, after spending nearly two decades in and out of prison. Some law enforcement officials and community members have called on Governor Pat Quinn to reinstate the death penalty in the O'Laughlin murder case.

The small plane, flown by Ray Harris, 46, went down about 10:30 a.m. in a soybean field west of Route 14 near North Ridgefield Road. A fourth victim was a 22-year-old Wisconsin man.
