'From Here to Healing' 5K Run/Walk

Join us for ZCenter's 2nd Annual 'From Here to Healing' 5K Run/Walk!

Because 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys will experience some form of sexual abuse before they turn 18. Because on average, a child will have to disclose his or her abuse 7 times before someone believes him or her. Because a woman is raped in the United States every 1.3 seconds. Because approximately 85% of sexual assaults are committed by someone the victim knows and most are never reported to the police.

For all these reasons and more we ask you to join Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center (ZCenter) for our Second Annual 5K Run/Walk as we help survivors move ‘From Here to Healing’.

At ZCenter we’re constantly working to create a community of zero tolerance for sexual violence. A community where survivors know they’ll be supported by educated, compassionate peers and leaders. Given the staggering statistics, it’s easy to see that the great odds are that someone we care about, whether we know it or not, has been affected by sexual assault and abuse. Won’t you continue be a part of showing them that they’re surrounded by friends and community members who believe and support them?

Please consider joining us on Sunday, April 27th at our Second Annual ‘From Here to Healing’ 5K Run/Walk at Independence Grove. Putting together a team for this run/walk is a great opportunity to support a worthy cause with your friends, family and co-workers. The maximum team size is ten individuals but feel free to foster some friendly competition by having multiple teams. Register online from our website (www.zcenter.org) to easily track your donations or contact Jamie Roberts at jroberts@zcenter.org/847-244-1187 x 137 for more information.

Those who register before April 1, 2014 will receive a free ZCenter 2014 5K t-shirt!

Thank you for all of your support as we continue to help survivors move ‘From Here to Healing’!
