Hough School Chess Tournament

Hough School Chess Tournament

Chess Without Borders and Hough Chess Club are
hosting the 6th Annual Chess Tournament/Charitable Fundraiser on Saturday,
Feb.22nd. At our first tournament, we raised money to finance reconstructive
surgery for 5-year-old Meher in India, who was badly burned when her mosquito
netting caught fire. The next year, our tournament raised money to send her to
school. Meher was first in her class!  The Hough Street Chess Club has made a commitment to continue
sponsoring Meher so that she will be able to continue to attend school and have
a chance for a future. All of the money collected from our tournament
will be donated to this worthy cause.

·   Stop by Hough anytime from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday
for a snack or lunch by Gourmet Cook Zein Bertacchi. All concession
proceeds will go toward Meher’s tuition.

·   Play in the
chess tournament. You don't need to be in a chess club. As a matter of fact, you
don't even need to be a student! Since this is essentially a fundraiser, we
urge ALL interested adults and children to participate. Come find out
what it's like to be in a tournament!
