Taste Takes Flight

The 2014 Taste Takes Flight event is scheduled for April 3rd
at the Chicago Marriott Northwest, in Hoffman Estates,
from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $125 per person and include sample
signature dishes from more than 20 chefs, and wine and spirits tastes from the
International House of Wine and Cheese.

Taste Takes Flight is an annual culinary event bringing
together chefs from throughout the greater Chicago
area in support of WINGS (Women in Need Growing Stronger)—dedicated to
assisting women and children who are victims of domestic violence. These chefs
donate their time, talents and signature dishes to help support the event and
WINGS. This year, Chef Lee Wolen, formerly with the The Lobby in The Peninsular
Chicago and now with BOKA as executive chef/partner, is joining the group.

Last year’s event raised more than $60,000 in support of
WINGS’ Safe House. Money raised this year will support the Building Safer
Futures campaign which is focused on shelter beds. First, WINGS will take its

current safe house to full capacity. Second,
WINGS has partnered with Metropolitan Family Services and Greater
Southwest Development Corporation to build the first interim housing shelter in
the city of Chicago in ten years.
