Bringing in over $2 million since its creation,
this annual gala has been a key component in raising awareness and funds for
Wellness Place, located in Inverness and offering
programs free of charge to children and adults from the community.  This year’s
event is chaired by long-time Wellness Place
volunteers, Jodie Barbera of Lake
Barrington and Chrissy Tilles of Barrington Hills.

“This year we are bringing our event back to
the area to honor and celebrate the overwhelming support the Barrington community
has given Wellness Place for the past 13 years,” said Mrs. Barbera.

As a special token of appreciation, each Golden
Birthday Gala ticket holder will be entered into a drawing to win a one-week lease
of a Jeep Wrangler from Wickstrom Auto Group.

“With the help of the Wickstrom family business,
we are able to present a truly unique evening of fun and surprises to
commemorate this special golden birthday celebration for Wellness Place,” added
Mrs. Tilles.

Cocktails will begin at 7 p.m.  Dinner with auction will be followed by
dancing and live music by Lloyd Dobler Effect.
Three recognition awards will be presented at the dinner.  Dr. Greg Brebach from Lake Barrington will
receive the Pat and Vince Foglia Commitment and Loyalty Award for outstanding
leadership, service and philanthropy.
Bonnie Albrecht of Inverness will be awarded the Jack Curran Star
Volunteer Award for exceptional volunteerism, and The Arboretum of South
Barrington will be presented with the Myrna and Stu Porter Community
Partnership Award for exemplifying collaboration, partnership, community,
advocacy and leadership on behalf of furthering the mission of Wellness Place.

Generous sponsor contributions enable Wellness
Places to underwrite expenses for the gala, ensuring that 100% of the evening’s
proceeds from ticket sales, auctions, and raffle go directly to the
organization to benefit individuals and families from our community who are
facing cancer.  Sponsors include
the Foglia Family Foundation, BMO Harris Bank, Advocate Good Shepherd, Myrna
Porter, K & M Printing, Barrington Bank and Trust, and Core Orthopedics.

Wellness
Place offers professional counseling and support free of charge to individuals,
families and caregivers affected by cancer. Programs and services help manage
emotional and physical responses to treatment, sort through options and side
effects, formulate questions for doctors, and communicate matters to family and
employers. Specialized services are available for

young
children and teens. The facility is located at 1619 West
Colonial Parkway in Inverness and serves the surrounding NW
suburban Chicago area.
