Donations can be dropped off at BHS from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, and 3-6 p.m. Thursday.

The Barrington District 220 community is coordinating an effort to collect supplies for the victims of Sunday's tornado in Washington, Ill.

Here is what the district posted on its Facebook page:

Many family and friends of Barrington 220 staff, students and residents were impacted by the devastating tornadoes in Washington, Ill., last weekend.

Thanks to coordination by BHS athletic teams, a local company, 1-800-PACK-RAT, is donating a large storage unit to transport emergency supplies to Washington on Friday, Nov. 22.

Between 5 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, and 3 and 6 p.m. Thursday, the storage unit will accept donations at the Barrington High School loading dock behind the gymnasium. Items can also be dropped off in the main lobby of the gymnasium.

Essential supplies being accepted for donation include water, Gatorade, diapers, baby formula, clothing, canned food, towels, wash cloths, blankets and toiletries.
