Georgio's Pizza to Reward 1 Millionth Customer with Free Pie for a Year

Two customers, one at each Georgio's location in South Barrington and Crystal Lake, will win free pizza for a year. The restaurant will also donate the same prize via gift certificates to two local food pantries.

Georgio's Chicago Pizzeria & Pub, which has locations in South Barrington and Crystal Lake, has a tasty reward for its 1 millionth customer—a free pie every month for a year.

Owner Brian Coli predicts Georgio's, established more than 11 years ago, will reach the milestone before Christmas.

"I can’t tell you exactly when I think the 1 millionth pizza will be sold without giving up the surprise, but I can say it will be any day now," said Coli.

The customer who purchases the 1 millionth pizza as part of a dine-in meal at either location will receive free Georgio’s pizza for a year, the equivalent of one free pizza every month for 12 months.

The customer who purchases the 1,000,001 pizza at the alternate location will receive an identical prize, making the opportunity to win available to patrons of either restaurant.

Donation to local food pantries

To celebrate the business’s commitment to helping the community, Georgio’s will donate the same free one-year supply of pizza—in the format of gift certificates—to the Project Hope Food Pantry at St. Anne's in Barrington, and to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry.

The donation is just a small representation of the thousands of dollars Georgio’s sends to nonprofits each year, according to a press release.

"We are so thankful for the support we have had from our patrons in Crystal Lake for the past decade and in South Barrington for the past two years," said Coli. "Giving back is something Georgio’s has always believed in, and what better way to celebrate our 1 millionth pizza sale than to share it with the communities in which we serve."

Georgio’s, a family-owned pizzeria named after Coli’s father and their shared middle name, George, is known for its deep dish. The restaurant has been named "Best Pizza" by the Northwest Herald’s "Best of the Fox" awards seven consecutive years.

Georgio’s also received the award for "Best Deep Dish" at the 2012 Chicago Pizza Fest, and is featured regularly in Pizza Today, a national magazine that lists Georgio’s as one of its "Hot 100 Independent Pizzerias in the Nation."
