Halloween Fun Round Up: Events in and Around Town

Patch wants you and your family to enjoy the Halloween season, so we've put together a listing of some frightfully fun events and activities in Lake Zurich, Buffalo Grove and Barrington leading up to the big trick-or-treat!

Fall is in the air, and events are abuzz as Halloween approaches! Check out the many activities for you and your family to get into the holiday spirit!

Buffalo Grove

Culver's of Buffalo Grove is hosting a pumpkin decorating contest on Oct. 19 and 20. Kids 12 and under who participate will receive a Kid's Meal for 99 cents. The top five pumpkins will be awarded prizes.

Trick-or-treating, 2-7 p.m. Oct. 31

Lake Zurich

House of Mayhem at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 24480 N Old McHenry Rd, Lake Zurich runs from Oct. 12- Oct. 27,  7-11 p.m. The Kiddie House is open 1 to 4 p.m. 

Foglia YMCA Halloween Spooktacular is held at the Foglia YMCA 1025 Old McHenry Road, Lake Zurich, Oct. 26, 6 to 9 p.m.

Barrington

Goebbert's Fall Festival in South Barrington runs through Oct. 31. Check out Animal Land to have a chance at petting giraffes and camels, and seeing a number of other exotic animals. Goebbert's also features a hayride, haunted house, All About Fall shop, market, pumpkin patch and more. 

Halloween activities will take place at the Barrington Park District Oct. 25 and 27 for kids 1-10. Participate in the Halloween Egg Hunt Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and be sure to check out the Halloween Spooktacular Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Barrington: 3-7 p.m., Oct. 31

Barrington Hills: 3-7 p.m., Oct. 31

Lake Barrington: 3-8 p.m.,Oct 31

North Barrington: 3-7 p.m., Oct. 31

South Barrington: 3-7 p.m., Oct. 31

Tower Lakes: 4-8 p.m., Oct. 31

Lake Zurich: 3-8 p.m., Oct. 31

And after the night of trick-or-treating is over, you may want to unload some of your child's candy, so check the Halloween Candy Buy Back program website sponsored by area dentists. Simply click on the link above, plug in your zip code, and find paricipating dentists near you that will buy back those sweets!
