The Lake Forest Chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago will sponsor the 46th Annual Antiques & Treasures in the Field on Sunday, September 8th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Deer Path Middle School, located on Deerpath Road, one mile east of Highway 41 in Lake Forest. Featuring over 50 quality Midwest dealers, highlights include a Country Market with a variety of gourmet delicacies along with the ever popular Treasures Tent filled with items from many Lake Forest Estates.

Jr. Warrior Football Practices in Full Swing

Ed. Note: This is a great example of how to promote your local sports league. 
This week, local boys have started the annual ritual of getting ready for a season of youth football in Deerfield. The boys practice every weeknight until August 30th and, while we inject fun into the practices, they work hard! Coach Vince Sassano said, "This is a great group of kids we have this year at all levels."

China's Shadow Banks

It appears China is worried about a boom in lending by the country's fast-growing "shadow banks," China created a cash crunch in June to squeeze their source of funding. One unintended consequence, though, was a selloff in the country's $4 trillion bond market.

Under But Not Out

Homeowners who want to buy a new house, but who paid more for their current house than they can sell it for today, feel stuck. Some are waiting for housing prices to rise so they can break even. The hitch is that when at some future date their current house goes up in price, so will the one they want to buy.
