505 North - Reading Is So Delicious!

If you've ever gobbled up a great read, tried a tasty tome or nibbled a novel, you'll agree that...Reading Is So Delicious! The Barrington Area Library Summer Library Club is now open for registration and this year's theme is "Reading Is So Delicious." There are four clubs: Preschool (Birth-K), Student (Grades K-8), Young Adult (Grades 9-12) and Adult.

Why should you join? If you love reading anyway, why not sign up and earn rewards for doing what you love? Earn a free book, win a gift certificate or even a grand prize, like a Color Nook (Adult club) or Kindle Touch (Young Adult club). Kids earn "library bucks" to spend in our fun Trading Post. If you want to make sure your child keeps up his or her reading skills over the long, lazy summer, Summer Library Club is an ideal opportunity. We have a full schedule of live entertainment and enrichment programs for kids and adults, too, so bookmark our events calendar and visit us often. A few highlights:

• Emerald City Theatre performs If You Give a Cat a Cupcake on Friday, June 22, 10:30 AM
• Laura Doherty sings breezy, acoustic pop for kids on Tues, June 26, 10:30 AM
• Acclaimed chef Gale Gand prepares delicious treats on Wed, July 11, 7 PM

Registration for Summer Library Club and our programs is free and takes only a few minutes online: Summer Library Club Web site. Then keep track of the books you read (listening to audiobooks counts, too), write reviews, and enjoy a delicious summer. For adults who want to increase their chances of winning: if you stumble upon a delicious-sounding recipe while reading a library book that is NOT a cookbook, post title, page number and recipe name to our Facebook wall for additional contest entries.
