505 North: You got that awesome new gadget - now what?

The Barrington Area Library is offering more than 20 workshops and info sessions this January about e-readers and gadgets of all kinds! Get free e-books, too.

So your holiday wish came true, in the form of a Kindle, Nook, iPad, Surface, or snazzy smart phone. Congratulations - have you had the nerve to take it out of the box yet? :) Just kidding, but, we know that new gadgets come with high expectations and occasional anxiety. So our friendly, expert librarians are offering lots of opportunities in January to help you get familiar with your new device. Here are a few highlights.

Librarian Lizzy will be available every Wednesday evening in January for all your e-book and e-reader questions. Just stop by the first floor Media Bar between 5-7 PM - bring your device!

On Thursday, Jan 3, from 4-5:30 PM, and Thursday, Jan 10 from 10 AM - Noon, it's "Demystify Your Device." Librarian Liz will be waiting in our atrium - bring your gadget in and she'll answer your specific questions and help you get started. No registration or appointment required.

We hope you already know that the library offers free e-books, audiobooks, music downloads and even e-magazines. If you haven't tried them yet, we've got plenty of free classes in January that will make you a pro.
