Barrington Bank & Trust Hosts Money Smart for Small Business Class Series

Barrington Bank & Trust, in conjunction with the Ela Area Public Library and the Lake Zurich Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a series of Money Smart for Small Business seminars during the months of October and November. Money Smart for Small Business is a new instructor-led training curriculum developed jointly by the FDIC and Small Business Administration. Each module is geared toward entrepreneurs covering a variety of common business issues.

Event Schedule:

Thursday, October 17

12 – 1 p.m.

Topic: “Tax Planning and Reporting”
Learn how to predict your businesses’ federal, state, and local tax liabilities, prepare for tax obligations, and establish proper accounts. Obtain the proper licenses for your business, and meet reporting requirements.


Thursday, November 7

12 – 1 p.m.

Topic: “Selling a Small Business and Succession Planning”
Learn how to incorporate life-cycle issues into your management planning and get on track to deciding the best option to exit your business and prepare for retirement.

Thursday, November 21

12 – 1 p.m.

Topic: “Banking Services Available to Small Businesses”
Learn to recognize the most common banking services for small businesses (including merchant services, payroll processing, business credit and others), understand how other small business owners decide which banking services to use and evaluate the applicability of each banking service to your business needs.

All events will be held at the Ela Area Public Library at 275 Mohawk Trail, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. A light lunch will be provided.
