There will be outstanding, dance worthy music, fun for the kids, delicious food and cold drinks at this all day event to raise funds and awareness for Cancer, ALS, and Hospice. This Sunday, July 1st, the Barrington 4th of July Celebration Committee presents Rock the Ride, an all day music event for the family at the Barrington Brat Tent. Local bands from the Barrington area will perform from 1 p.m. – 10 p.m. in this benefit for Ride for 3 Reasons.
Junior High and High School bands The Road Not Taken, White Shadow, and Moonlander will perform. The evening showcases adult bands Vinyl Richie, The Guys, and Between the Lines. Additional children’s entertainment and local groups from Bataille Academie of the Danse and Epic Cheer will perform on a second stage throughout the day.
Many children’s activities such as pop-a-shot, slap shot, crafts, hairbraiding, etc. will keep the kids entertained. Plenty of good food and refreshments will be available. Entry is free until 6 p.m. then the cost is $5 for adults. Check out the great raffles! This event is located at the Barrington Brat Tent in the Metra commuter train lot on Spring Street.
Come out and support Ride for 3 Reasons which benefits Cancer, ALS and Hospice. In September of 2012, Barrington resident Bob Lee will embark on his third solo bike ride and what he hopes will be a $1 million fundraising result. Beginning in Vancouver, Canada, the 70-year-old humanitarian will follow the western coast of the country into Mexico, and then return to California to cross the finish line in San Diego–the starting point of his first RIDE. This third ride will complete a journey around the perimeter of the United States.
If you can’t make Rock the Ride on Sunday, consider donating to the cause at www.3reasons.org. Join the excitement!
