We Want Your Voice on Barrington Patch

There is a lot going on in Barrington every day. From sports to local events to charity happenings, there is more going on than I can cover as an editor. That’s why I’m asking for your help.

I’m looking for more community members to get involved with Barrington Patch by becoming one of our Local Voices. Writers of Local Voices are typically passionate community members who want to spread the word about their organization, or talk about a topic they are knowledgable in. Some of the writers we have include:

We’d like to keep expanding that list, and add more to our Local Voices team. Here are some great facts about Local Voices writers:

• Writers are unpaid, but their contributions are extremely valuable to us and to the community.
• Writers do not have deadlines or content requirements to follow. If you have something to say, write about it! If you can’t think of something to write about for a week or more, that’s okay too.
• It’s very easy to get started, and publishing an article on Patch is something anyone can do. Once you sign up, you’ll receive instructions on how to publish your content and you can take it from there.

Youth or Adult Sports League Participants:  Are you a coach, player or founder of a sports team of club? We’d love to have you on board to write about the games, highlight players that deserve recognition and more.

Religious Organization Leaders:  What better way to get your church or religious organization’s name out there than to write with Local Voices. You can publish your sermons, tell the community about membership drives, and write about service opportunities.

School Leaders: Is your preschool or other learning center doing great things? Tell the Barrington community about it by writing with our Local Voices team.

Government Officials: If you are a board member or other elected official from Barrington, Barrington Hills, North Barrington, South Barrington, Tower Lakes, Lake Barrington or other surrounding town, we’d love to have you write for us. Tell the public what’s happening without the help of an editor!

Community Members: If you consider yourself an expert in something, write about it! Couponing, parenthood, gardening, health and wellness, or just Barrington itself—they are all great topics to write about.
