Jump the Ride at Kids in Action Gymnastics Academy

is hosting an open gym at KIAGA’s new facility, 28039 W. Northpointe Parkway, Lake Barrington, Saturday, May 12. There will be two open gym sessions. Tots through age 11 will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Kids aged 11 and up will have an open gym session from 8:30 to 10 p.m.

The cost is $10 per child.  Song requests will be $1 each and Ride for 3 Reasons t-shirts will also be for sale. Proceeds will go toward Ride for 3 Reasons, which is Bob Lee’s cycling adventure to raise money for Hospice, cancer, and the ALS Foundation. Contact Kathy Moran for more information. Norton’s U.S.A. Live Auction Cake Sale

The auction, which begins at 3 p.m.,  is part of store owner Deborah Leydig’s endeavor to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Barrington. Bring cakes to donate to the auction no later than noon on May 12. 

Celebrate Mother’s Day with Birds of Prey at Stillman Nature Center

Bring mom, grandma and any other mothers in your life to Stillman Nature Center, 33 W. Penny Road, South Barrington, on May 13. Those in attendance will see a great horned, barn, barred and screech owls, plus a peregrine falcon and broad-winged hawk. Hours are 1 to 3 p.m. and the cost is $5 per car.

Barrington Mother’s Day 5k Walk/Run

Celebrate Mother’s Day by running or walking on the streets of Barrington on Sunday, May 13. In addition to the 5k run/walk, there is a free kids’ 100 meter dash. Money raised from race entrance fees goes towards The Gateway for Cancer Research. The course begins at the Barrington train station, 200 Spring Street at 8 a.m. To learn more, head to the race's website.
