National Opportunities Abound for Local Soccer Players

Sockers FC Chicago players recruited for National play.

The time has come for the multitude of youth-based travel
soccer clubs in the area to prepare for the beginning of spring soccer. Players of
all levels – boys and girls, are awaiting the first division game of the season
while parents are praying for a warm start and for the cold, white fluffy stuff
to stay away!

But some local Sockers FC players are already knocking the
ball around outside. They have been recruited to the highest levels of youth –
soccer. These include NPL (National Premier League) and ECNL (Elite Clubs
National League).

TheNPL provides a unified, league-based national developmental platform with the highest level of competition in its geographic areas.

Created to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape based upon US Club Soccer’s fundamental principles, the NPL extends developmental principals espoused by the U.S. Soccer Development Academy into younger age groups and additional clubs, providing a platform for long-term player development.

Those players selected to the NPL are:

Erika Dacanay – Crystal Lake

Sarah Ripple – Crystal Lake

Areianna Bein – Woodstock

Hanna Stovall – Crystal Lake

Sophie Immens – Fox River Grove

Josie Eriksen – Crystal Lake

The Elite Clubs National League was founded in 2009 to enhance the developmental experience of female youth soccer players in the United States through:

  • Improving the competitive
environment through creation of a true national competitive league with
         multiple flights;
  • Improving the process for
identifying elite female soccer players for the U.S. Soccer youth national
teams through a systematic scouting and identification program based    on national competitions; and
  • Improving the daily training
environment at top female youth soccer clubs through developing best
practices and training and organizational guidelines for its member clubs .

Those players selected to the ECNL are:

Eda Senger - Huntley

Taryn Jakubowski – Huntley

Being elevated to the NPL and ECNL divisions means hard work
and a good deal of traveling throughout the region and country for these
ladies. But with that will come exposure to the nation’s top teams and the top
colleges in the United States.

All of which is possible through Sockers FC dedication to “developing
players”.

Development soccer addresses how coaches can help in
building personalities and confidence while instructing at the youngest ages –
the basic fundamentals of the game itself. Early on Sockers FC players learn the
right way to play the sport – that it’s not about winning but instead about
individual and team development. Players who strive to move forward and profess
a genuine love of the game, have the opportunity with the Sockers to move
beyond the Divisional and Regional level of play to continue to develop into
some of the Nation’s finest athletes.

Good luck ladies – You’ve earned it!
