Fashion's Night Out from Our Corner of Cook Street

Shoppers celebrate and give back on Fashion's Night Out 2011 at Mia Sorella.

Fashion's Night Out 2011 is now history.... For the first time Mia Sorella, in downtown Barrington, participated in this fashion extravaganza and we were not disappointed! Across the globe on this one special night, September 8th, the world helped kick off New York's fashion week in style. Thousands of Fashion's Night Out events drew celebrities, designers, and shoppers out to celebrate and support this industry which touches almost everyone.

At Mia Sorella we wanted to do more than celebrate fashion, we wanted to give back.  We teamed up with Park Avenue Wine Bar and SweetPea Cakes to make it a night to support Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).  We donated 25% of sales from the event to support Ricky's Ramblers as Ricky and his team walk for a cure for JDRF....  AND what an amazing turn out we got from our community. Shoppers came, shopped, celebrated, and gave back.  We raised more than $1500 in less than three hours from our little retail shop on the corner of Cook Street. We were truly amazed by the support of this community and how much fun we had doing it!

Fashion's Night Out began back in 2009 by the editors of Vogue and the city of New York.  It was designed to kick start the sagging fashion industry hit by the recession and breathe some excitement into a night of shopping. Since 2009, FNO has grown and expanded past just New York City and spread to become a global sensation. And from our corner of Cook Street, we were so excited for the chance to be a part of something bigger than just a night out.  We jumped on the chance to ride this wave that has swept across the country in both the on-line retail world, and brick and mortar stores.
