Favorite Things

Favorite things.  when I hear those two words I think of two things:

The Sound of Music and Oprah.  Maybe not everyone can appreciate rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens or bright paper packages tied up with string, but we are sure we found something to climb up your list.  And since Oprah is the talk of the town these days, we thought we would honor one her "favorite things” in today's blog.  

We have just recently stocked our shelves with one such item... Lafco's House & Home candles.  They are loved by Oprah and they have fast become one of our favorite things too. We found these candles while perusing homey items at a cozy little shop in Lake Geneva.  Drawn to the deep shades of the hand- blown glass we tried one and jotted this candle down as one of our favs - a must have for our store.  This creative line of candles is made to fill your home with lovely scents, each specific to different rooms in your home.  This extensive line ranges from obvious places like the Bedroom, to those not-so-central spaces, such as the Boudoir or Tea Room.  What we love is that each scent is made uniquely for each different room found in your home or even each specific house on your property (such as your Beach House or Pool House).  The best sellers range from Bedroom (Chamomile Lavender) to Ski House (Feu De Bois) and Country House (English Ivy- which is currently gracing my office as I write this blog....ahhhh). The candles burn for about 60 hours and when they are done burning, you can re-use the hand blown glass for collecting anything from loose change to your kids box tops! 

So, as Oprah winds down her historic career (it is difficult to even grasp the effect she has had on the retail world!)- we would like to thank her for helping guide us in the daunting task of how to stock our shelves.  Oprah- your favorite things will be missed greatly by this retailer!
