Obituary: Jerome "Jerry" Orloff

Jerome “Jerry” Orloff, 83, passed away Aug. 22 in Barrington.

He was born January 31, 1930 in Chicago to William and Adele Orloff.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean (nee Pfiffner), son Paul (Golie) Orloff, and daughter Patricia (Bradley) Orloff Erdmann, grandchildren, Elise Anne Orloff and Hayden Orloff Grow, Sabrina Erdmann, and nieces Susan, Laura Jean, and Juliana Burgess.

He was born and raised in Chicago and attended Providence of God grammar school, Tilden High School, and received a degree from Knox College in Galesbury, IL. He met his wife Jean at Knox College, where he was a proud member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.

Jerry was employed by IBM, Texas Instruments, and Motorola, where he retired after 25 years as Corporate Director of Communications and Marketing. He loved golfing, traveling abroad with his wife, Chicago Bears and Notre Dame football, and spending time with his family.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 26 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St (Lake-Cook), Barrington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 27 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington, with visitation one half hour prior to mass at the church. Burial in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
