Barrington Police Blotter: Battery, DUI, Theft

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Barrington Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Battery

  • Dominique L. Ratliff, 37, of 209 S. Dundee Ave., Barrington, was arrested Dec. 6 for battery at the above address. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of 9 a.m. on Jan. 7.
DUI
  • Felipe M. Serrano, 42, of 56 Birch St., Carpentersville, was arrested Dec. 11 for DUI, BAC over .08, speeding, no insurance, no valid driver’s license and open alcohol in a motor vehicle at Main Street and Hilltop Avenue. The subject was released and given a Cook County court date of 9 a.m. on Jan. 24.
  • Donald J. Garcelon, 46, of 1925 E. Oakton St. #1F, Des Plaines, was arrested Dec. 8 for DUI, no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after being involved in an accident at Route 14 and Ela Road. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 13.

No Valid License

  • Liberio N. Silva‐Morales, 41, of 1931 N. Hicks Rd. #109, Palatine, was arrested Dec. 9 for no valid driver’s license, no insurance, following too closely and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after being involved in an accident at Main Street and Ela Road. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of 9 a.m. on Dec. 30. 

Suspended License

  • Jamie J. Olsen, 19, of 546 Welch Circle, Lake Barrington, was arrested Dec. 10 for driving on a suspended driver’s license, unlawful use of license and no insurance at 511 Lake Zurich R. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of 9 a.m. on Jan. 13.

  • Police took a theft of vehicle report Dec. 15 when a resident of the 300 block of Eastern Avenue was unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Police took a fraud report Dec, 14 from a resident of the 200 block of Sharon Drive.
  • A resident of 1400 block of South Barrington Road misplaced a bag of clothing on Dec. 13.
  • Police responded Dec. 12 to Walgreens, 189 West Northwest Highway for a retail theft report.
  • A gate latch was reported damaged Dec. 12 at Shorely Woods.
  • Police took a report Dec. 12 for identity theft from a resident of the 400 block of West Hillside Avenue.
  • Two dealer license plates were reported missing Dec. 12 from a file cabinet at Motorwerks at 1475 South Barrington Rd.
  • Police took a theft report Dec. 12 for an iPhone taken from a locker at Barrington High School, 616 West Main St.
  • Police took a report Dec. 9 for Identity Theft in the 200 block of Balmoral Lane.
  • A mailbox was damaged Dec. 9 in the 800 block of Hampstead Court.
  • Police responded Dec. 9 to the 400 block of Westwood Drive for a medical related call.
