Barrington Police: Burglaries, Telephone Harassment Among Crimes Reported

Note: The following information was obtained from the Barrington police department. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

Vehicle burglary
Several items were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked at a grocery store on West Main Street, police said. The theft was reported June 10.

Telephone harassment
A resident in the 700 block of Sunny Lane reported telephone harassment after receiving several unwanted text messages on June 10, according to police.

DUI arrest
Mark P. Lydon, 47, of 4300 Barharbor Drive, Lake in The Hills, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, no insurance, failure to reduce speed, following too close and violation of restriction, police said. Lydon was arrested June 12 following an accident on Main and Wool streets. He was released on bond with a Cook County court date of July 24.

Items stolen
A resident of the 800 block of Hampstead Court reported numerous items taken from their unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway on June 12, according to police.

Money missing
A resident of the 800 block of South Hough Street reported on June 12 that money had been taken from her residence, police said.
