Barrington Police: DUI, Attempted Burglary

Police release reports from the week of July 22.

Note: The following information was obtained from the Barrington police department. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

DUI arrest

James R. Schuman, 33, of 2010 Dorchester Ave., Algonquin, was arrested for driving under the influence, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content over .08, no insurance and improper lane usage at Whitney Drive and Main Street on July 20, police said. The subject was released and given a Cook County court date of Aug. 26.

DUI

Patriece E. Ricci, 41 of 330 Wethington Drive, Wauconda, was arrested for driving under the influence and driving under the influence with blood alcohol content over .08 on July 23, police said. Ricci was also cited with driving while license suspended, improper lane usage and driving with no lights at Hough and Main Streets, police said. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of Aug. 26.

Theft

Police responded to the 100 block of West Hillside Avenue for a theft report when an evicted renter removed several appliances and other items from the residence on July 25, according to reports.

Gas theft

The owner of the Mobil Gas Station, 504 East main Street, reported someone pumped gas and left without paying on July 26, reports stated.

Attempted burglary

A resident in the 200 block of Cold Spring Road reported finding an unknown male inside their sunroom porch area on July 26, police said. The homeowner verbally confronted the man, who fled the area, reports stated. The homeowner found damaged to a window and trim. Police are investigating the incident as a possible burglary.

Missing laptop

The owner of a business on Dundee Road reported a former employee failed to return a company owned laptop computer, police said. The report was filed on July 27.

 

 

A harassment report was taken in the 500 block of Lake Shore Drive North on July 27, police said.

 

The owner of the Phillips 66 service station, 1205 South Northwest Highway, reported a former renter of the garage area removed two vehicle lifts and an air compressor from the business and failed to return them on July 28, police said.
