Barrington Police: Thefts, Traffic Violations, and Identity Theft Reported

Note: The following information was obtained from the Barrington police department. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

  • Police took a theft report at the Barrington Post Office, 1515 South Grove Ave., on June 29 when a piece of mail was found open and the contents missing, police said.
  • A purse and contents were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in a garage in the 200 block of Astoria, according to police.
  • A car was relocated in the Metra lot, 201 Spring Street, on June 28, police said.
  • Guadalupe J. Campuzano, 18, of 115 Grant St., Barrington, was arrested for no valid driver’s license, possession of cannabis, driving too fast for conditions, improper over taking on right and blocking an intersection at Hough St. and Route 14 on June 28, police said. Campuzano was released on bond with a Cook County date of Aug. 13.
  • Jaime Orozco, 44, of 19 Cardinal Lane, Carpentersville, was arrested for no valid driver’s license and failure to reduce speed at Hough and Liberty Streets on June 27, police said. Orozco was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of July 24.
  • A resident of the 400 block of East Oakwood Drive reported identity theft on June 26, reports stated.
  • Joseph D. Whitehair, 21, of 317 Harvard, Villa Park, was arrested for residential burglary at 430 E.Drury Lane, on June 26, police said. Whitehair was transported to Lake County jail.
  • Police took a report of harassing emails in the 100 block of Coolidge Avenue on June 23, according to reports.
  • A resident in the 100 block of South Cook Street reported identity theft on June 24, police said.
  • Police took a theft report in the 400 block of East Main Street on June 24, police said.
  • Victor Reyes, 30, of 1740 Rose Ave., Palatine, was arrested for no valid driver’s license, failure to reduce speed and following too closely after being involved in an accident at Route 68 and Grove Ave. on June 25, police reports stated. Reyes was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of August 6.
  • BP Petroleum gas station, 205 North Northwest Highway, reported someone pumped $59.00 of gas and drove off without paying, on June 25, police said.
  • A customer of Jewel/Osco, 150WestMain Street, drove off with their wallet on the rear bumper and later discovered $445 in cash missing when the wallet was returned, police said.
