Burglars Steal Cash From Barrington Quiznos

Barrington police report two burglars broke into the restaurant during the early hours of August 7.

Two people stole more than $1,500 from the this weekend, and the incident was all caught on tape.

say the crime happened between 2 and 3 a.m. August 7 at the Quiznos restaurant located at 115 N. Northwest Highway. Quiznos has a surveillance system inside of its store, so the entire incident was captured on film.

“They were inside of the store for 26 minutes” Det. Sgt. Kevin Croke said.

Croke said the offenders cut the Internet and phone cables before entering into the store, and also tampered with bolts on the back door to the building, allowing them access inside.

“They had power tools with them,” Croke said. “They then proceeded to use a power saw and cut into the floor safe which is bolted to the ground.”

The individuals got $1,500 from the ground safe, and took off with a smaller portable safe inside of the store. They also stole $300 from the cash register drawer.
