Charges Filed Against Barrington Hills Teen in Fatal Crash

A Barrington Hills teenager is facing aggravated DUI charges for a car crash that killed a 61-year-old Elgin man in March, the Daily Herald reports.

Police say Karsten Eilertsen, 18, was driving north on Route 59 in Barrington Hills on March 3 when he swerved into the other lane, hitting a Toyota. Eilertsen’s car then slammed into another car, killing driver Ronald Ziolo of Elgin and seriously injuring the female passenger. Police say they found Adderall, Lorazepam, a glass water pipe and marijuana in Eilerston’s car, the newspaper reports. 

According to becrecruited.com, Eilertsen is a 2013 Barrington High School graduate who played football and lacrosse.
