Concession Stand Money Stolen at BHS Homecoming Game

Police arrested a woman for allegedly stealing the money after posing as a parent volunteer.

A Johnsburg, Illinois woman was arrested after pretending to be a parent volunteer at the homecoming football game.

Ann L. O’Connell, 48, was arrested for theft on Sept. 24. Police say she entered the concession stand, grabbed a handful of cash and stuffed it into a popcorn box before going back into the stands.

A staff member in the concession stand saw what happened and followed the woman. She then got a hold of police at the game and alerted them of the situation. arrested O'Connell and recovered less than $500 from her.

O’Connell’s Lake County court date is Oct. 26.
