Deerpark Fire Causes Heavy Damage to Home

Lake Zurich firefighters responded to a fire at 21660 Rainbow Road in Deerpark early Thursday and found a two-story single-family home with fire coming from the roof, according to authorities.

The call came in from someone passing by who told police the home was vacant.

Additional fire departments, including Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Long Grove, Wauconda and Libertyville, were called to the scene to assist because of the home’s rural location and the need for water, the LZ fire department said. Water was also shuttled from a hydrant at Cuba Road and Berkshire Lane in Lake Zurich.

The home is uninhabitable and the fire is under investigation.
