Forgery and Fraud: Barrington Police Blotter

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

FORGERY

Matthew W. Sowders, age 21, of 20133 N. Ela Rd., Barrington,  was arrested for forgery at 106 N. Northwest Hwy., Feb. 13 The subject was transported to Lake County for bond call.

Police took a forgery report, March 12,  when a check was signed and cashed by someone not on the account.

FRAUD

A resident of the 700 block of South Highland Avenue reported, on March 11, that  a debit account had been fraudulently accessed.

On March 14, Police took a fraud report when a pharmacy received a prescription that was not issued by the physician named on the script.

THEFT

On March 13, a resident of the 400 block of Park Barrington Drive reported their front license plate was missing off the vehicle.

On March 15, an iPhone 4S was reported stolen from a locker at Barrington High School, 616 West Main Street.

POT HOLE DAMAGES

Police took a report on March 12 that a vehicle suffered estimated damages of $1883.88 as a result of hitting a pot hole in the 300 block of West Northwest Highway.
