UPDATE: Barrington Man Dies in House Fire

The Barrington Fire Department responded to a house fire at 6:06 a.m.

UPDATED 9:40 a.m.: 

Barrington resident Richard Sowa, 52, has been pronounced dead after a morning house fire at 411 June Terrace in Barrington. 

The fire was reported by a neighbor at 6:06 a.m. Sept. 9. Whenarrived at the scene, they found the man who lived in the home unconscious in the lower level. Paramedics tried to save him, but he was later pronounced dead.

The building where the fire occurred is part of a residential duplex. No other injuries were reported, but other buildings were also damaged by the blaze. 

The fire is still under investigation.

7:30 a.m.: 

A home on June Terrace went up in flames this morning. 

Officials aren't realeasing much information at this time, but confirm the blaze started around 6 a.m. Firefighters on the scene reported fire coming from the basement window of the property. An officer also confirms heavy smoke was pouring out of the home. 

Barrington police officials say the helicopters seen hovering nearby were not medical, fire or police related.
