Heroin Seized; McHenry Co. Man Faces Several Drug Charges

A 26-year-old Wonder Lake man faces several drug charges after his arrest on Jan. 9, according to a sheriff's office press release. 

Stephen J. Anton, of 9023 Oriole Trail in Wonder Lake, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant. Police had received several phone calls from concerned residents regarding suspicious activity associated with Anton. 

During his arrest, police seized three grams of heroin along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

Anton has been charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver, felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. A $10,500 bail has been set and he is next expected in court at 9 a.m. on Jan. 14.

“This is the third time in the last 18 months Stephen Anton has been arrested for drug-related charges,” Undersheriff Andrew Zinke stated. “We encourage residents to call our Narcotics Division (815)334-4760 when they suspect drug dealing in their community.”
