No Animals Injured in Barrington Hills Barn Fire

The barn caught fire in the morning of Oct. 10.

The cause of the barn fire in Barrington Hills yesterday is still under investigation, fire officials say. 

The structure located at 21089 Ridge Road caught fire around 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 10. When crews arrived on the scene, heavy smoke was pouring from the building. A box alarm was pulled for assistance from other departments. In total, 33 departments and services helped extinguish the blaze including 10 water tenders. The fire was controlled by 12:58 p.m. according to the Barrington Fire Department. 

No animals or people needed to be rescued from the barn as it was unoccupied. Two firefighters were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and were later released, the Barrington Fire Department said.
