Police Blotter: Barrington Man Arrested for Domestic Battery

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Barbara Fortis, 36, of Chicago, was arrested on March 16 for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was also cited for illegal parking and failure to display drivers license. Fortis’ court date is set for May 2.

Barrington Hills resident James Sayre, 55, was arrested on March 17 for driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, improper turn and failure to signal at the intersection of Northwest Highway and Hough Street. Sayre is scheduled to appear in court on April 19.

Vemana Jampala, 28, of Mundelein, was arrested on March 18 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Jampala is due in court on April 6.  

Huntley resident John Bourke, 67, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance, speeding and improper lane usage on March 18. Bourke’s court date is April 19.

Annemarie Casserly, 36, of Prospect Heights, was arrested on March 19 for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 6.

South Elgin resident Ted Becker, 41, was arrested for aggravated DUI, a Class 2 Felony, on March 19. Becker’s bond is set at $25,000. He is due in court on March 25.

John Slobodzian Jr., 27, of Gages Lake, was arrested on March 20 for driving under the influence of alcohol, no insurance, improper lane usage and defective windshield. Slobodzian Jr. is scheduled to appear in court on April 6.

Possession of Cannabis

Michael J. Ryan, 20, of the 600 block of Ridgewood Drive, was arrested on March 20 for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Ryan was given a court date of April 13.

Cary resident Brandon Adams, 21, was arrested for possession of cannabis on March 20 during a traffic stop at Route 14 and 22nd St. Adams is scheduled to appear in court on April 13.

Zachary Stasiak, 18, of Cary, was arrested for possession of 219 grams of cannabis on March 20. The offense is a Class 4 Felony. Stasiak’s bond is set at $10,000. He is due in court on April 6.

Damaged Property, Theft

The passenger side window of a car parked on Williamsburg Park was broken into on March 21. Passports were stolen from the glove box of the vehicle.

Abandoned Vehicle

 An abandoned vehicle was located in the parking lot of Jewel-Osco on March 21. A tow sticker was placed on the car.

Theft

A resident of the 700 block of Northwest Highway reported that someone used his debit card to make purchases in the United Kingdom. The incident was reported on March 22.

A resident of the 600 block of South Hough Street reported that someone made $1,488 in charges on her debit card.

Burglary

A home burglary was reported in the 400 block of Fox Glove Lane on March 23. The owner of the home reported several things missing from his home including electronics, cash and jewelry.

Driving on a Suspended License

Elgin resident Cordero Thompson, 20, was arrested on March 23 for driving on a suspended license, speeding and unlawful use of license. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 19.

Anthony Warren, 34, of Cary, was arrested for driving on a suspended license on Marc 27. He was also cited for improper lane usage and unlawful use of a drivers license. He is due in court on May 2.

Round Lake Beach resident Gabriel Rivas, 18, was arrested for driving on a suspended license, speeding and no insurance on March 27. He was given a court date of May 9.

Domestic Battery

Brian Plass, 24, of the 300 block of East Main Street, was arrested on March 24 for domestic battery. He was given a court date of April 7.

Mob Action

A group of young adults and teenagers were arrested on March 24 for fighting at Beese Park. It happened on March 24. Andrea VanCleave, 20, of Tower Lakes; Jalisa Simmons, 22, of Carpentersville; Deontra Randle, 22 of the 400 block of Old Mill Road, Barrington; two 16-year-old girls from Tower Lakes, a 16-year-old girl from Barrington, a 17-year-old boy from Carpentersville, and a 15-year-old girl from Carpentersville are all facing charges for unlawful assembly.
