Police Blotter: Fake Vampire-Like Blood Sprayed on Home

Reports from the Barrington Police Department.

Criminal Damage to Property:

On Oct. 2, an unknown person sprayed something similar to costume vampire blood on a home in the 100 block of East Hillside Avenue.

DUI:

Elliott Miller Knick, 24, of Cary, was charged with DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane use, and not driving on the right side of the road at Route 14 and Kainer. The incident happened on Oct. 3. Knick’s Cook County court date is Oct. 21.

Mark D. Hauser, 50, of Lake Barrington, was charged with DUI and improper lane use at Route 14 and Route 59 on Oct. 5. His court date is Nov. 17.

Possession of Tobacco by a Minor:

A 16-year-old Lake Barrington boy was charged with possession of tobacco by a minor at Lake Cook Road and Hough Streets. He was given a Cook County court date of Nov. 17.

Driving on a Suspended License:

Kelsey Lee McGinnis, 19, of Streamwood, was charged with driving on a suspended license, expired registration, possession of a canceled suspended/revoked driver’s license at Route 59 and Dundee Avenue on Oct. 4. McGinnis was given a Cook County court date of Oct. 21.

Burglary:

On Oct. 6, police responded to a burglary at Clarke’s Bakery, 455 West Northwest Highway, after someone smashed a window to gain entry. The person removed a steel box with a small amount of cash inside.

Stolen Property:

 A DROID cell phone was reported stolen from Barrington Middle School, 40 E. Dundee Road on Oct. 6.

Reckless Driving:

Rafat A. Abdekhadi, 52, of Hoffman Estates, was charged with reckless driving and resisting a police officer at Barrington High School on Oct. 6. His court date is Nov. 17.

Driving Without a Valid License:

Jose Luis Correa-Ortega, 44, of Elgin, was arrested on a warrant by the DuPage County Sheriff on Oct. 8. The warrant was for no valid driver’s license. He was a passenger in a vehicle where the driver, Pedro Arroyo-Morales, 19, of Elgin, was also arrested for no valid driver’s license. Correa-Ortega was turned over to the custody of the DuPage County Sheriff. Arroyo-Morales’ court date is Nov. 28.

Open Liquor, Child Restraint Violation:

Maria Reteguin-Negrete, 32, of Glendale Heights, was charged with open liquor, driving without headlights, no driver’s license, no insurance, and a child restraint violation at 333. N. Northwest Highway. She was given a Cook County court date of Nov. 28.
