Police Blotter: Home Burglars Steal $11,000 in Jewelry

DUI:

April 26: Leonard G. Turco, age 56, of 1720 Squirrel Trail, Cary, IL was arrested for DUI, driving in wrong lane, failure to yield to authorized vehicle, failure to wear seat belt, driving while license suspended, suspended registration and improper lane usage at Route 14 and Main St. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of May 30, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

May 2: Kathy M. Hansen, age 54, of 19 Riderwood Rd., North Barrington, IL was arrested for DUI, speeding and expired registration at Route 59 and James St. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of June 12, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

Possession of Cannabis and Drug Paraphernalia: 

April 27: Kevin J. Becker, age 18, of 1830 Burr Ridge Dr., Hoffman Estates, IL was arrested for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper turn and failure to signal at Dundee Lane and Route 59. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of June 12, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

Driving on a Suspended License: 

May 2: Elizabeth N. Benson, age 26, of 160 S. Buffalo Grove Rd. #2B, Buffalo Grove, IL Was arrested for driving while license suspended, expired registration and unlawful use of driver’s license at Hough St. and Liberty St. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of May 30, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

No Valid Driver’s License: 

May 2: Mario Ramirez‐Leon, age 44, of 300 W. County Line Rd., Barrington, IL was arrested for no valid driver’s license and driving around a railroad signal at 557 N. Hough St. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of May 30, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.

Suspicious Incident: 

May 2: A middle school student reported a black vehicle with a male driver, stopping at her bus stop, located at Hillside Avenue and Lill Street, asking her if she wanted a ride.

Battery:

May 3:  Three 15 yr. old females from Carpentersville were arrested for battery at 616 W. Main St. The subjects were released and given a Cook County court date of May 22, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

Home Burglary:

May 4: A burglary to residence was reported in the 300 block of South Grove Avenue, during morning hours. Numerous articles of jewelry were taken in excess of $11,000.
