Police Blotter: Public Urination, Stolen Identity

No Valid Driver’s License

Natividad M. Nolasco-Rangel, 28, of the 100 block of Grant Street, was arrested on March 3 for driving without a license, no insurance, improper passing and failure to reduce speed after being involved in an accident.

DUI

Algonquin resident Sonam Zaveri, 23, was arrested on March 11 for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting a police officer, improper turn and improper lane usage. Zaveri is scheduled to appear in court on March 30.

Raymond Melvin, 55, of Lake In The Hills, was arrested on March 11 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Melvin was also ticketed for improper passing, following too closely, improper lane usage and improper use of horn. Melvin’s court date is set for April 19.

Palatine resident Katharine Diaz, age 29, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on March 11. She was also cited for driving without insurance, speeding and improper lane usage. Diaz is scheduled to appear in court on March 30.

David Verdico, 49, of Arlington Heights, was arrested on March 11 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Verdico was also cited for improper lane usage. His court date is March 30.

Lake Villa resident Greg Wolff, 48, was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to signal, no insurance, and improper lane usage on March 13. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 6.

Christopher Tsolinas, 42, of the 100 block of Joan Drive, was arrested March 15 for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane usage. Tsolinas is scheduled to appear in court on May 2.

Theft

Allstate Concrete Cutters reported that barricades had been stolen from the 100 block of S. Cook Street. The value of the barricades is estimated at $500.

The owner of a home on the 300 block of Dundee Avenue reported a five-gallon bucket of primer and a microwave oven were taken on March 18. The primer is valued at $100. The microwave’s value is unknown. 

A resident of the 700 block of Concord Lane reported her front license plate missing off of her vehicle on March 19.

The driver’s side windows of two vehicles parked in the 900 block of Marlborough Avenue were shattered on March 20. A GPS was taken from one of the vehicles.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia or Controlled Substance

Magdalena Minton, 18, of the 500 block of North Avenue, was arrested on March 15 for possession of a controlled substance at Barrington High School. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 13.

Libertyville resident Ismini Walsh, 27, was arrested on March 15 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Her court date is set for May 2.

On March 17, Kathryn Augustyn, 18, of Inverness, and a 16-year-old boy from Streamwood were charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia, and trespassing at Citizens Park after dark. The teenage boy was also charged with possession of alcohol by a minor, and transferring or giving alcohol to an underage person.

On March 17, 17-year-old girl from Des Plaines and a 17-year-old boy from Hoffman Estates were charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing at Citizen’s Park after dark.

Identity Theft

A resident of the 200 block of Eastern Avenue reported that someone has stolen his identity and used it to open credit cards and bank accounts.

Electrical and Natural Gas Hazard

The people living in a home on the 300 block of Franklin Street were displaced after code violations were discovered that made the home uninhabitable. The violations led to electrical and natural gas hazards.

Public Urination

Kenneth Chlupsa, 28, of Carpentersville, was caught urinating in public on March 17. The incident happened in the Harris Bank parking lot at the intersection of Station St. and Cook St. Chlupsa has been charged with disorderly conduct and will appear in court on April 19.
