Police Blotter: Suspended License

A resident reported that someone unknown sprayed black spray paint on the rear license plate of his vehicle on Oak Creek Drive. It occurred between Dec. 24 and Dec. 27.

A 16-year-old juvenile from Buffalo Grove was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The juvenile was stopped at 11:40 p.m. on Dec. 26 on St. Mary’s Parkway at Navajo Trail.


Reggie Eggemeyer, 22, of the 6500 block of North Neva Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license and having no rear registration plate. He was stopped on Dec. 28 at 4:15 a.m. on Dundee Road at Carriageway Drive.

An employee reported that her purse and jacket were taken out of the manager’s office at Lou Malnatis, 85 South Buffalo Grove Road. The red Vera Bradley purse contained $3, a credit card and a debit card and keys to her car. The Northface jacket is black and is valued at $150. The incident occurred between 3:30 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. on Dec. 27.

A restaurant official from Outback Steakhouse, 720 West Lake Cook Road, reported that a male and two female subjects dined and dashed on Dec. 27 at 9:10 p.m. The tab was $100.02 without tip. Another employee was able to provide a license plate to the vehicle the subjects left in. An officer contacted the registered owner who agreed to return and pay the bill. The registered owner stated that she had been talked into dashing by her friends. Once the bill was paid, the restaurant official declined to sign complaints.   

A resident of the 600 block of Woodhollow Lane reported that someone used her credit/debit card information to make at least 25 unauthorized transactions valued at $1,437.65. The majority of the transactions took place between Dec. 17 and Dec. 24 in the south suburbs of Chicago.

Interesting, there have been a number of storied of dash&dine that have resulted in no complaint filed once the bill was paid. How is that a deterrent?
