Police Blotter: Underage Drinking, SS Number Fraud

These incidents were among the official reports of the Barrington Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

 

UNDERAGE DRINKING

On  Jan. 27, Austin E. Griffin, age 18, of 1012 George St., Barrington, was charged with possession/consumption of alcohol at Elm Rd. and Willow Rd. The subject was given an adjudication hearing date of Feb. 21, at 4 p.m.

RETAIL THEFT

On Jan. 30, Jeffrey B. Vance, age 41, of 810 W. Northwest Hwy., Barrington, was arrested for retail theft at 101 S. Northwest Hwy. The subject was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of Feb. 15, at 9 a.m.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY 

A Criminal Damage to Property report was taken at the Pizza Factory, located at 101 West Northwest Highway, when the front window to the business was smashed by a brick thrown through it by unknown persons, sometime after closing the night before and opening in the morning, Jan. 31. 

On Jan. 31, a damage to property report was taken when a light pole was found knocked over in the 500 block of Shorely Drive. It appears to have been struck by a vehicle.  

 

DECEPTIVE PRACTICE

On Jan. 31, a deceptive practice report was taken from a business in the 200 block of East Station Street when the owner reported data from his computer system being deleted.

 

SS NUMBER FRAUD

On Feb. 1, A resident of the 300 block of North Cook Street reported someone is fraudulently using their social security number.

On Feb. 2, a resident of the 300 block Sharon Drive reported someone is fraudulently using their 10 year old child‘s social security number.
