These poor establishments in Barrington are struggling to stay in business. Now they have to deal with the expense of "targeted" police survelliance. Come on can't our tax dollars be spent in a more benenficial manner? How about creating opportunities to increase sales and attract quality retailers/restaurants to the area along wtih customers.

No matter the state of the economy, it has always been illegal to sell/furnish alcohol to minors. The individual employees are being ticketed, not the business, or at least that is how I am reading the article. Reducing youth access to alcohol impacts the community in a variety of positive ways, i.e. reducing costs for public safety through reducing alcohol related traffic crashes.
