The Lake County Sheriff's Office is seeking information in the investigation of a 61-year-old North Barrington woman, who has been reported missing.

Family members told the sheriff's deputies they had not heard from Maria A. Carlsen since, Monday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m., according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to 26 Lakeside Lane in North Barrington for a "check for well being call."

Investigators have learned that Carlsen was scheduled to take a limousine to O’Hare airport on Tuesday morning in order to fly to Boca Raton, FL, to be with her husband.  When the limousine arrived at her residence, Carlsen’s bags were packed but she and her vehicle, a 2010 black 5 Series BMW, were missing from the residence.  Investigators later recovered her vehicle from the parking lot of JD’s restaurant located at Route 12 and Old Rand Road in unincorporated Wauconda.

Sheriff’s deputies, reserve deputies and Lake County Forest Preserve Police have searched the area around the restaurant with negative results.

Carlsen is described as being 5-feet-4-inches tall, 115 lbs., brown eyes and brown hair with a few red highlights.  It is unknown what she was wearing when she went missing.

Investigators have been working very closely with the Carlsen family and are asking for the assistance of the public in locating her.
